HBO released the trailer for it’s new upcomming series The Last Of Us and it looks like it could be a very true adaptation of the video game.

Playstation console players are probably very familiar with The Las Of Us. Developed in 2013 by Naughty Dog and created by Neil Druckmann, The Last Of Us tells the story about Ellie and Joel traveling through the ruins in a distopian future where minkind is threatened by a virus. The game was very intense and cinematic. What stood out in the game is the quality acting of both Troy Baker (Joel) and Ashley Johnson (Ellie), bringing a distinct atmosphere and certain realism to the game.

Now, years after the release of The Last Of Us Part II almost 2 years ago, Druckmann returns alongside Craig Mazin, known from his other hit HBO series Chernobyl, for a television adaptation of the popular Playstation video game and it looks fantastic!

This time, the roles of both Ellie and Joel haven been taken by Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) and Bella Ramsey (Game Of Thrones). Expectation for this adaptation are very high by the fans of the popular video game franchise.

The Last Of Us is premiering on January 15 on HBO and HBO Max.
